The fair will also feature other activities including a workshop on cooperation and the development of services on the EWEC, the signing of Memoranda of Understanding on bilateral cooperation between participating businesses, and many attractive arts performances.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the Fair, Vice Chairman Tran Van Mien emphasised that this is the seventh time such fair has been held with the aim at intensifying economic cooperation and promoting exchange activities in the fields of commerce, tourism and investment among countries along the EWEC and their international partners.

The EWEC corridor was created based on a road stretching 1,450 km across Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Viet Nam, from Mawlamyine in Myanmar to Da Nang in Viet Nam, and is one of the key economic corridors in the GMS.  This aims to deepen integration and trade and investment links, and reducing poverty in the region.

The fair will run until 16 August.
